The 97-98 girls Soccer Vision Academy team out of Pittsburgh won the Pisa Holiday Tournament on December 27 in Pittsburgh and qualified for the indoor national tournament in the process. Congratulations and good luck!
Anthony James was named the head girls coach of the Ohio North 1997 Girls state team. He was also named an assistant coach for the U13 Girls Region I ODP program. Soccer Vision Academy would also like to congratulate Brandon Morton, Logan Mitchell and Casey Lindstrom for being invited to the Ohio North State team pools in their respective age groups. They each had to try out at the district/regional level to be invited to the final pool. These teams will be selected in the spring. Should they do well and make the final cut they will be invited to their respective ODP camp this summer.
Soccer Vision Academy has created an online store for the purchase of apparel. Check out the site to see what items are available.
November 5-6, 2011 - Knowing this was going to be their last time attending the Madison Invitational Soccer Tournament, the academy teams were intent on displaying a fine brand of soccer. By the time the sun had set on Sunday they had done just that. In attendance there were eight academy teams including one of our teams from Pittsburgh. By the end of the tournament there would be six champions and one other finalist.
In the U14 girls premier division SVA Pittsburgh was crowned champions. On their way to the title they were defeated by TC United Falcons in their first game. They would then follow this up with a win against our SVA '99 girls team and Neo United. Waiting in the finals was the same TC United Falcons team who SVA defeated on PK's. In the Boys premier U12 bracket, SVMilano was crowned champions. During group play they defeated Newbury Black Knights 2-0, Huron County 4-1 and One United FC 3-1. They would meet One United in the final, defeating them by a score of 6-2. In the U12 Girls premier bracket, SVA Girls '00 defeated Premier AC 11-0, TSI Premier 3-1 and West Geauga 8-0. In the finals they would meet TSI Premier once again, defeating them by a score of 4-1.
SVA U12 girls competed in the U12 Division I level and had a very nice run. In their first game they were defeated by TSI Premier by a score of 1-0. They would shake off that loss to defeat West Geauga 2-0, Sandusky 1-0 and Mentor 1-0 to reach the final. In the finals they were defeated by Sandusky 1-0 who they had previously defeated in group play. SVUnited competed in the Boys U10 bracket and had a unique run. In their first game they tied AMFC Strikers 4-4. In their second and third games they would then go on to defeat Geneva Arsenal 4-3 and One United FC 5-1. In the finals they would meet AMFC Strikers once again, defeating them by a score of 2-0.
SVA U10 girls defeated the following teams in group play: Barton Lady Magic 10-0, Fairview Park Scarlet 8-0 and Moon Area Soccer Hurricanes 1-0. In the finals they met Moon Area Soccer Hurricanes for a second time and defeated them 2-0. Project24 was crowned champions as they won all four games in the Premier U9 division giving up one goal in the process. Soccer Vision Academy is very proud of all its teams who participated in this event and would like to congratulate all champions and finalist on a job well done.

| U12 Girls - CASA Premier Division Finalist |
October 30, 2011 - The Soccer Vision Academy Girls'00 team were finalists in the CASA (Cleveland Alliance Soccer Association) Fall Finale Tournament held October 29 and 30 in Lodi. The girls played very well throughout the weekend sweeping through their bracket against some tough competition. They defeated Ambassadors 5-1, Excalibur 5-0 and Cleveland United 4-1 on their way to the final in the Girls U-12 Premier Division. They turned in another strong performance against a very good CSA (Cleveland Soccer Academy) Impact team but could not find the back of the net despite having more possession and scoring opportunities. The one lapse they had defensively for the entire game gave CSA a shot from a goalkeeper clearance with which they wasted no time in striking a well placed shot in the side netting of the far post. An unfortunate loss after the girls controlled most of the game, however as we keep saying, goals win matches.
The SVA Girls U-10 team also faired well and could have made it to the final but losing their first game 4-3 to Northern Steel Eclipse gave them an uphill battle. They would later go on to defeat Cleveland United 8-0 and Arsenal FC 4-1.
The U-12 Girls Division 1 team and SVA Girls'99 competed well even though they did not play to their potential. The U-13's dropped their first two games 3-1 to NEO and 1-0 to Northern Steel Explosion but would rebound to take their last game 1-0 against CSA Impact in the Girls U-13 Premier Division.
It was a weekend of up and down showings for the U-12 Division 1 team as well, as they finished 0-2-1. In both their games on Saturday they led at half time but would go on to lose 4-2 to Cobras and draw 2-2 with NEO. On Sunday they had a slow start giving up an early first half goal but would settle down and play a much better second half. They would lose 2-1 to the eventual champions, Blast FC (Columbus, OH), after a penalty kick was awarded in the second half for a hand ball in the box.
Overall, the teams did a good job against some quality competition. Congratulations to the SVA Girls U-12 Premier team on their finalist performance! All the girls teams competed very well especially considering this was the first fall season for the U-12 Premier, U-12 Division 1 and U-10 girls teams.

| U13 Girls - Hudson Premier Runner Up | U13 Boys - Hudson Premier Runner Up |
October 11, 2011 - The U12 boys and both U12 girls teams were crowned champions in their respective age groups. In addition, the U13 boys and U13 girls both finished as runners up in the premier division. The U10 girls were finalists in Division 1, and the U9 boys were runners up in the U9 Premier Division. SVMilano won the U12 boys championship by beating previously unbeaten AMFC out of Akron, 4-1, in the final game of the Premier Division. They had their best showing in a very tough U12 Premier Division. They would finish 3-1 scoring nine goals while conceding four. Their level of play all weekend was outstanding as they moved the ball quite well. SVA Girls'00 finished 3-0-1 scoring 20 goals while shutting out all of their opponents including Cleveland Kickers Soccer Club (State League Team). SVA Girls U12 won the Division 1 age group, 2-1, beating the PA Crew in the final game. They had to battle through every game on their way to the championship.
The U13 boys tied the Power Player Academy from Canada by a score of 0-0. They scored 17 goals while giving up only one. However, due to tournament rules, Power Player Academy who scored 15 goals while also conceding one were crowned champions. They were a fantastic team and the game was quite entertaining. SVA Girls'99 also went undefeated in bracket rounds outplaying all their opponents and dominating possession. In their four games leading to the final they had not conceded a goal and defeated State League opponents AC Premier and CKSC along the way. They would again dominate possession in the final against Ohio Strikers but wasted scoring opportunities would come back to haunt them late in the game as they fell by a score of 1-0.
Project24 played some of its best soccer in the U9 boys division and was the only SVA boys team to defeat a team from Power Player Academy, winning by a score of 5-1. Power Player Academy proved to be an exceptional academy all weekend long and will be a great measuring stick for our boys. In their second game they were defeated by Challenge Crew, 3-1, the eventual tournament champions. They would then save their best for last as they defeated East Side Kickers by a score of 6-2. They really played some of their best soccer to date at this tournament.
The U10 girls were in a nail biter in their final, also against PA Crew. This was a high scoring affair in a game which went back and forth. SVA scored first but almost immediately after the kick-off the score was tied and they would find themselves down a few minutes later. They would rebound to score twice to take a 3-2 lead into the half. In the second half they scored to make it 4-2 before giving up four goals to go down 6-4. They continued to battle and scored another to make it 6-5 but time was not on their side. Overall it was an exciting game in which they created more scoring opportunities but were unable to capitalize on them towards the end.
All-in-all it was a great weekend for SVA soccer. All the teams played well and represented the academy philosophy of always trying to play the game the right way.
Oct. 9, 2011 - Both boy's and girl's teams had a tremendous showing at the recently concluded Hudson Soccer tournament. The soccer on display was just remarkable as they competed against some very good teams from Canada, PA and Ohio North. Check below for tournament results.

Sept. 17-18, 2011 - The Soccer Vision Academy Girls U-13 (SVA Girls'99) and Girls U-12 (SVA Girls'00) teams had some quality performances this past weekend at the 13th Annual Ohio Premier Eagles Invitational in Dublin, Ohio. In the Platinum rated tournament in which many of the best soccer teams from the Mid-west and Atlantic regions participate, SVA Girls'99 were Finalists going 3-1 in tournament play and SVA Girls'00 went 1-1-1 in their three games.
SVA Girls'99 had three shutout wins on route to the final. Two of their three 1-0 victories were against St.Louis Scott Gallagher (Missouri) and Carmel United (Indiana) both top clubs in the Midwest Region and are nationally recognized. The girls played some very attractive soccer in their hard fought and well earned victories against their opponents with their goals coming from Jennifer Woodford (against St.Louis Scott Gallagher Premier Navy), Hanna Ward (against Hilliard FC) and Rachel Braunegg (against Carmel United in the semi final with 30 seconds remaining in the game). Their shutout streak ended as they came out flat in the final against Barca FC Girls Academy conceding two girls in the first fifteen minutes of the game. They settled down after this but could not dig themselves out of the hole they created dropping a 2-0 decision.
SVA Girls'00 also had some good results despite not playing to their ability. The first match was their best game against eventual champions Ohio Premier Eagles Black in a match where they controlled play but failed to convert their chances, particularly in the second half in which they squandered four clear cut scoring opportunities. They did not show as well in their following two matches falling to BSA Celtic 3-1 but still got the better of Ohio Premier (North) defeating them 2-0. Congratulations girls on a fine performance!
Project 24 was one of 10 teams who were honored at the Columbus Crew stadium during the Crew MLS game against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, July 16. Below are two photos taken at the stadium.

For yet another year, the SVA summer camp was a success. We had upwards of over 100 campers and they all seemed to enjoy the experience. The kids were exposed to some very high level of coaching from the SVA staff. They were put through exercises that encouraged them to think on their feet, were extremely intense in some cases and were quite enjoyable. Throughout the week the players enjoyed this fun learning environment and it showed in their demeanor as they executed each exercise.
This year the project was a design of the African continent. The winners of this years project design can be seen below. Soccer Vision Academy would like to congratulate each player who participated in this project. We would also like to give special thanks to all group winners and Hannah Johnston, Sadie Ward and Kaitlyn Rosensteel for winning the two top spots for the competition. These designs were absolutely fantastic.

June 11-12, 2011 - Congratulations to Soccer Vision Academy for its fabulous showing at the Erie Admiral Flagship Cup. The U12 girls were crowned champions after going through bracket play without surrendering a goal and defeated Mississauga Falcons 2-1 in the championship. The U11 girls fell in a shootout in the championship final after battling back from a first game 5-4 loss while the U9 girls lost a 3-2 heartbreaker in the last minute of the championship after going undefeated in three bracket games.
Great showings were also displayed by the U15 girls, U12 boys, U11 boys, U9 boys and Project24. The U15 girls were 0-2-1 for the weekend in closely contested matches. The U12 boys tied their first game 3-3 and won their third game 8-2 with an awesome display of teamwork while the U11 boys ended the tournament with a tie. The U9 boys put on a showing in the U10 bracket making the silver semi-final as Project24 played in the U10 gold division and showed everyone what great things are to come!
Congratulations to all the teams! What a great way to end the season.

June 4-5, 2011 - This past weekend SVUNITED won its first championship at the Parker Classic in Cleveland, OH. They played really well all weekend long on their way to four wins and the eventual championship. They defeated Excalibur, Concordia and TCSC in a very tight contest during round-robin play. They would then meet TCSC in the final where they saved their best for last. The soccer that was displayed was just remarkable. By the time the referee blew the final whistle the score was 8-1 and the boys were feeling good about their accomplishment.
SVA is very proud of the work they did as a team. This was truly a team effort. There was very good goalkeeping throughout, awesome defending when needed and the goal scoring was on full display. In all they scored 25 goals in four games.
SVMILANO played very well also and just came up short in moving on to the semifinals. They are growing and getting better with each passing tournament so we look forward to their continued growth and development.
SVLONA had a tough outing this weekend so we must get back to the drawing board.
Once again we would like to congratulate all of our teams for the work they put in this weekend.
June 4-5, 2011 - In Lodi, OH, all four SVA girl's teams competed over the weekend. The U-10's defeated Jackson Fury 6-2 and Ohio Rush 7-2 while the U-9's defeated Excaliber 4-1. The U-11's defeated Cleveland United 3-2 but dropped their second match to LESC 6-4. The U-12's played very well and finally started putting the ball in the back of the net. They defeated the Ambassadors 6-0 and Cleveland Whitecaps 2-0. A thunderstorm ended the game with the Whitecaps during half time.
May 30, 2011 - This past weekend four SVA boys teams traveled to Toledo, Ohio, to participate in the Pacesetters Memorial Day Tournament. Our Project24 team displayed some dazzling soccer on its way to its first tournament championship. They finished the tournament scoring 30 goals with 10 against. There was certainly outstanding play from all the boys. However, special mention should be made to the goal scoring touch of Tristen Rose and the MVP type performance from Anthony Gagliardi(A-Man). They were just too much for their opponents all weekend long.
SVUNITED were runners up and had they scored one more goal or given one less goal they too would have been crowned tournament champions. They scored 19 goals while conceding 6. This group was relentless all weekend long and were rewarded for their efforts.
SVLONA finished up as a tournament semifinalists in the U12 Gold bracket while the SVMILANO crew finished third in their bracket.
Soccer Vision Academy would like to congratulate all the teams for representing the academy in a first class manner. Once again they brought recognition to the Mahoning Valley and all surrounding areas.
